Andy,
I might have missed what was said at the start last night, but wanted to give feedback on the revised Bigfoot logo (jersey mockup).
My reaction to the logo is why couldn't we keep it as BigfootBC rather than CC? Keep it a bit unique instead of having CC like everyone else. and as someone said we won't be mistaken for cricketers...
I also wondered why the name change!!
Plus Bc looks as if we have been around a while!!
Seriously quality and range of kit looks great
Would definitely be interested not only for
My self but also for the go ride kids.
Spencer
I'm actually all for the name change to Bigfoot CC. Numerous times when racing or even when talking to other cyclists about the club it has been referred to as Bigfoot Cycling Club or Bigfoot CC and we've even had Sportive and race results printed like this.
Looking around the web CC seems the most common name for a cycling club and I think in this instance looking for something 'unique' is perhaps not the way to go - people are more likely to remember Bigfoot CC and isn't that one of the aims? You never know we might all start putting the same team name down when we enter events from now on!
Looking at the press release photo's of Wiggin's signing for Sky it looks like from the colours of the bike there kit could be similar to the new bigfoot colours!
I've just seen a photo of the new kit on cycling news. Good work guys although I'm not too sure of the colour. Maybe sticking to the old white and black may have been a safer choice? ;o)
I hope so. Christmas got in the way of plans. We're in touch with Giordana now so with any luck will have a final design for the jerseys and shorts soon.
Any news on when the new kit may be ready to be ordered ? A few of us will be starting the race season in the coming month or two and it would be good to wear team colours.
That's a dummy page and we don't have the final bits back from Giordana which is why the page has not been published yet - ie it's not available when you click on the current Club Kit page and there's been no announcement. That design was shown at the Hog Hill day and at the last pub meeting. It's taken a lot of work from people who don't have much spare time to organise. We're dealing with a new supplier and there are minimum order numbers and potentially some big upfront costs so the plan is to keep the range simple initially and expand on it once we're happy and there is demand.
We did think about a dark version of the design and once we've got this one nailed down we can see what it would look like switching the colours. I'm hoping we'll have some news by this time next week.
As Andy says it's a pretty long process which we're trying to fit around everything else but the latest news is I have a big box of kit samples of all different sizes to aid the buying process. These aren't in the Bigfoot colours yet but it will help people get a feel for the quality and check sizing. We have sample jerseys and shorts in all sizes from S to XXL.
Final designs have gone to Giordana and they are currently artworking these into templates which can actually be used to print the kit. As soon as we see these templates and approve them we'll be able to get the ball rolling; we're aiming to organise an evening where you can check out the kit samples, see the designs from Giordana and place your orders.
Paul
Do you have any samples of the kids kit,as we will probably be ordering 30ish jerseys in one go to begin with. If you do could I collect from you before sat 27 feb so I can size the kids. Hopefully this should help with the order. Thanks spencer
Sorry Spencer I don't, just adult samples. Giordana size their kids kit by age which will hopefully be a good guide. I could request some samples but they may not arrive before the 27th. Alternatively if you know of a shop that stocks Giordana kids kit then you could check sizes there as the sizing of their custom kit matches their main product range.
(For those who went to Hotel Dory, Italy in 2008 and bought Giordana kit I can also confirm the new club kit sizes match.)
Hi Paul
Any news on the club kit?
Took a group of Bigfoot kids to herne hill last Sunday
And had to other clubs parading around in club kit!!!
Thanks for your help with this.
Spencer
Hi Spencer, sorry for the delay in replying, I've been on holiday for just over a week. We had nothing through from Giordana while I was away but I chased yesterday and they've said revised designs should be with me tomorrow. Fingers crossed these will be the final versions and we can then quickly organise a "kit fit" night, talk through any questions on the design and gather all orders from members. Production from the point of ordering is then anything up to 90 days.
We are now able to take orders for the new kit. There is a discount if you order and pay by 31st March. Manufacture and delivery will take a couple of months. There will be short & long sleeve jerseys in mens and ladies designs, bibshorts, gilets and childrens short-sleeve jerseys and shorts. Please see the 2010 Club Kit page for full details, a form to download and payment details. There will some Giordana jerseys to try for size by Saturday at the shop. Thanks to everyone who's helped with this.
There are sample jerseys and bib shorts in several men's sizes to try on (they didn't send women's or children's sizes) at Bigfoot Bike shop. I have established I take L in jerseys, the same as the Owayo jersey size. Rob can take payment on a debit card and please remember to fill in a form if you order there. If you can't make it this weekend it's open until 8pm next Thursday.
No further news yet I'm afraid. The finalised order was sent off to Italy on April 16th and Giordana say first orders can take anything up to 90 days to process. It could be mid July before we have kit but fingers crossed it's sooner.
Giordana have just informed me the new club kit will be ready at the factory on June 21st so hopefully we'd be able to distribute it the following weekend - 26th June.
I'm going to see if we can expedite it at all because if those of us signed up for the Smithfield Nocturne actually get in we'll have to do it in old kit :-(
Don't worry chaps. Me, Hugh and Mike are setting off for France on 1st July, so if you just miss out on 26th June then we should be able to bring them with us.
I tried that, I made out we had a strong team of riders in the Nocturne (I didn't mention it was a support race!) and it would be good form them to have their kit on display, alas that didn't worth either.
The news yesterday from Giordana is the kit's not ready yet. Unfortunately they provided no more detail than that.
I'll keep you all posted when I hear more but I would suggest to those of you travelling away this coming weekend and wanting the kit badly, wash your old stuff in preparation - just in case!
KIT UPDATE:
Giordana UK have finally recieved the s/s jerseys from the factory in Italy. The remaining kit items are being finished off and are due with Giordana UK this week.
I'm currently trying to find out if it is feasible we can have the whole lot sent to us before the weekend. I'll keep you all posted but rest assured, as soon as we have our hands on the kit and have checked it's all present and correct we'll share details of how you can pick up your orders. Chances are we'll get it all to the shop for Saturday/Sunday morning collection if possible.
KIT UPDATE:
Giordana UK has informed me this morning that "The second part of your order leaves Italy this week. We’ll have it here just after the weekend." so I'm afraid it will not be here in time for the Bike Radar Live event this weekend.
Not realistically I'm afraid. As quoted above Giordana are getting it just after the weekend and then need to send it on to us. We'll then need to check everything is there exactly as we ordered before we can start handing it out and with full time jobs to hold down that might not be possible until the weekend or later in the week at best. Sorry.
KIT UPDATE:
Giordana UK now have all our kit and are completing an invoice to send out. Once they've recieved final payment the kit will be delivered. It'll then be a couple of days for Andy and I to get together and check it all over before letting everyone know how they can go about collecting it.
I would guess the payments clearing the banks, delivery and checking will take us to just the otherside of the weekend before it's ready for collection.
Paul, thank you for all your efforts on this. I was hoping the kit would be delayed a bit longer as I've ordered a long sleeve jersey which will not be a lot of use for a while.
Sorry to be a pain, but I was wondering if the new kit was in yet. I am off on my cycle to Paris on Thursday and wanted the top to wear when I got to the eiffel tower ?
Hi Mark, the latest in this ongoing saga is we had to pay the outstanding balance (nearly 4k) by cheque as there isn't online banking on the club account. The cheque was sent Friday but has to arrive and be cleared by Giordana before they will dispatch the kit. There's still chance we could get it for this weekend but not Thursday I'm afraid.
If you have ordered kit, it will be available for collection on Saturday. We're checking the delivery. If I can get it to the shop for tomorrow I'll update this topic this evening. Thanks for your patience.
In any case this will be just in time for me to take it to France so that I can show it off on the hills of South Normandy for the next three weeks.
Thanks for all the work put into this order.
Bob
Just picked my stuff up from the shop. Shorts are an excellent fit and really really nice, I possibly should have gone for XS with the jersey but its still a really good bit of kit. Can't wait to ride in them.
Thanks for all your hard work and effort guys, very much appreciated!!
Have just rode to Bigfoot to collect new kit and I must say that it was well worth the wait !!! Excelent quality and very vibrant !! A big thank you to all involved, tomorrow mornings ride will look very bright :)
Well done Rob Ford with the design of the sharp new kit. Like the blue flash to the front of the shorts which give a slim look to the hips. Colours of black and 3 tints of blue are simply inspired.
The collar on the Gilet is great and warm.
Thank goodness that we commissioned a leading graphic designer.
This design will inspire our racing team of Level 5s to further glory. As requested, want your signature on mine. One day you will be famous.
I spoke to Giordana today about a new order. The factory is closed for August so delivery will be in October. We'll get more bib shorts (mens and womens), short sleeve jerseys and long sleeve jerseys. We could also get more gilets as well as socks, arm and leg warmers. Giordana also do gloves and 3/4s and bib tights. So please indicate what additional items you might be interested in. There's a minimum of 10 on some items and 30 on others so this will be dependent on what we think the demand is.

Andy,
Interested in bib tights and gloves and maybe the rest (depends on price).
Grrr - no email access so far today because of a Virgin Media fault.
Now, Giordana prices go up in September (and VAT goes up next year) so we need to place the order by the end of next week to benefit from pre-increase prices.
Ladies, would you prefer bib shorts or waisted shorts (no bib)- or no preference? The final price is tbc but the bibs are about £51 and waisted about £49 for pre-paid orders.
Pre-paid short-sleeve jerseys will be £40; long-sleeve £45.
